Mowich Lake Sculpin Survey (Sept. 2017)

Moore ZJ, Tabor RA, Waterstrat FT. Mowich Lake Sculpin Survey (Sept. 2017). Research Permit and Reporting System

On September 26-27, 2017, USFWS sampled Mowich Lake to obtain genetic samples on a population of sculpin (Cottus sp.). Baited minnow traps were set in the lake to collect sculpin. All sculpin collected in the minnow traps were identified as torrent sculpin (C. rhotheus). Besides torrent sculpin, the only thing caught in the minnow traps were signal crayfish (Pacifastacus leniusculus). Both torrent sculpin and signal crayfish likely represent introduced populations.
