Resource Brief: Amphibian Monitoring Program Summary
Carlson JE. 2022. Resource Brief: Amphibian Monitoring Program Summary. Gulf Coast I&M Network
This 2-page brief summarizes how the Gulf Coast Network monitors amphibians using PVC pipes and plywood coverboards as artificial cover objects, which are checked every other month in seven sites within three National Park units. The objectives are to assess species richness and composition of the amphibian communities that use the monitored cover objects, and for the more commonly encountered species at each site, determine their frequency (yes/no detected), relative abundance (counts per board or pipe), and track changes in both metrics over time.
