We proposed to resurvey the terrestrial vertebrate fauna (mammals, birds, reptiles, and amphibians) at 39 sites within the southern Sierra Nevada, including 11 sites in Sequoia - Kings Canyon National Park (SEKI) and 28 in surrounding areas. These sites were originally studied between 1911 and 1942 by Joseph Grinnell and other staff of the Museum of Vertebrate Zoology, University of California Berkeley. In addition to 3 sites surveyed within SEKI during the 2009 field season.
