Hedera helix (English Ivy) as a sterilant for in situ propagation of submerged aquatic vegetation
Black F and Young J. Hedera helix (English Ivy) as a sterilant for in situ propagation of submerged aquatic vegetation. Research Permit and Reporting System
English Ivy will be collected throughout the Presidio, dried, ground up, steeped in hot water, and used in bioassays in a systematic and standardized manner in order to develop a protocol that will be used repeatedly throughout the three year course of the Mountain Lake SAV propagation/reintroduction project. Two species of native snails, Planorbella tenuis and Stagnicola (both historically present at Mountain Lake) will be translocated back into the SAV tanks post sterilization to both control
