This report is an update on the status of the genetic evaluation study initiated in April of 2015 in the Black Canyon of the Gunnison River. On April 11th and 12th, four anglers accessed the Black Canyon via the Red Rocks trail to collect genetic tissue sampled from rainbow trout via catch and release angling. A total of 30 genetic samples were collected in this effort.
