Bat Survey in the Dyke Marsh Wildlife Preserve. Research Permit and Reporting System
Bats are taxonomic groups that are unique among mammalian species because of their ability for true flight. Their ability to utilize urban areas also increases human-bat conflicts in these areas. Information about how bats are affected by the urban landscape is minimal. Bat acoustic surveys and mist net surveys were used to identify bat species occupancy and diversity, specifically M. leibii and L. borealis, in the District.
