This SOP describes how to prepare and use the iPads with the Park Observer enterprise app (developed by the Alaska Regional Office GIS Team) to collect field data for Brown Bear aerial surveys. Some specific tasks are covered by other SOPs. Park Observer and iPad preparation and training tasks include: 1) installing Park Observer on the iPad; 2) making background maps (aka Tile Packages or .tbk); and 3) setting up the iPad and Park Observer app for Brown Bear surveys.
