Flight plans are submitted to NPS Alaska Region Communication Center (ARCC, located in Denali National Park). An example flight plan is in Appendix SOP3.1. The Project Leader checks in with ARCC prior to departure, also at least every 60 minutes during the aerial survey using a satellite phone, and lastly when the plane has landed safely in Juneau to close the flight plan.
