Land surface phenology monitoring protocol for park units in the Northern Colorado Plateau Network and Southern Colorado Plateau Network standard operating procedures

Northern Colorado Plateau Network. 2018. Land surface phenology monitoring protocol for park units in the Northern Colorado Plateau Network and Southern Colorado Plateau Network standard operating procedures. Northern Colorado Plateau Network

These standard operating procedures (SOPs) consist of downloading and preprocessing MODIS imagery, extracting pixel values for areas of interest, computing phenology and production metrics and trend over time. The last optional step includes computing water balance metrics for areas of interest and linking the water balance time-series to the NDVI time series for determining vegetation response relationships with climate. Phenology and vegetation production trends do not require water balance. The following SOPs are included: SOP 1: Software Installation SOP 2: Download and Preprocess MODIS NDVI Imagery with MODIStsp in R SOP 3: Water Balance SOP 4: Processing NDVI and Analysis SOP 5: Revising the Protocol Narrative and SOPs These SOPs are for the Northern Colorado Plateau Network park units only.
