ABSTRACT: This is the first of two volumes of the report on modeling cumulative noise from simultaneous flights. This volume includes: an overview of the time compression algorithms used to model simultaneous aircraft; revised summary of a preliminary study (which includes updated measured data); an expanded analysis of cumulative noise from simultaneous flights for several additional National Parks; and a discussion of the remaining issues and tasks that are recommended be addressed.
