To the Valley Forge Park Commission

2029. To the Valley Forge Park Commission

For the last fifty years or more the site of the forge that is generally well known as "the Valley Forge", which was destroyed by the British in the month of September, 1777, has been subject of controversy. The determination of said site has not become an important matter because the Valley Forge Park Commission has recently purchased, for the State of Pennsylvania, the remains of an old forge situate on Hay Creek, about three miles west of Birdsboro in Berks County, and intends to transfer it to the site of said Valley Forge.
