Summary of proposed field methods and activities: I am proposing to survey three small sites (< 1200 m2) in Great Smoky Mountains National Park in June of 2018. Each site would be visited twice during the daylight hours and ideally once during night hours. Individuals of all non-endangered and non-threatened plethodontid salamanders would be measured for head length, snout-vent-length, and tail length. No animals would be removed from the field or killed. Between visiting field sites, calipers and boots would be bleached to eliminate spreading wildlife diseases.
