Lloyd MF. 1985. Documentation of Historic Structures at "Fatlands Farm" and "Walnut Hill" (Parcels 101-68 and 101-61 of Valley Forge National Historical Park). Philadelphia, PA
"Fatlands Farmn" had been a country estate for more than two hundred years when the greater portion of it was acquired in March 1983 by the United States of America for inclusion in the Valley Forge National Historical Park. "Fatlands" was owned and occupied by Philadelphian James Vaux during the Revolutionary War and there is ample primary source documentation of the activities of British and American troops on the farm during the fall, winter and spring of 1777/8.
