Field Methods: 1)Arrays of data loggers will be deployed on sites to record microclimate variables for use in habitat suitability models. 2)For each site, we will use repeat-visit, distance-to-line transect sampling to estimate occupancy and detection rate of reptiles. 3) We will use hoop net traps, minnow traps, egg mass counts, and dip net surveys to quantify richness and abundance of turtles and amphibians in wetlands. To monitor stream salamanders, we will use leaf litter bags distributed along 150-m sections of first order streams. For details on research methods please see attached proposal.
