Second Century Stewardship: Science for Americas National Parks

Miller-Rushing A, Langley C, Fisichelli N, Cole-Will R. 2018. Second Century Stewardship: Science for Americas National Parks. National Park Service, Acadia National Park

From the abstract: "Second Century Stewardship began in 2016 as an initiative to advance science and inspire audiences of all ages. The goals of the initiative are to: (1) support stewardship of park resources through advancing conservation and ecosystem science, (2) strengthen public understanding of the importance of science for parks and society, (3) increase public engagement with science, and (4) pursue solutions to critical conservation challenges. The project partners achieve these goals by providing research fellowships and communication training, by enhancing park education activities and school curricula, and by convening leaders to pursue solutions to critical challenges. Second Century Stewardship has achieved early successes and promises to continue to grow its impact in Acadia National Park and throughout the National Park Service."
