Schaefer A and Mahovlic W. 2018. Invasive plant management and revegetation efforts in Denali National Park and Preserve: 2018 summary report. Natural Resource Report. NPS/DENA/NRR—2018/1792. National Park Service. Fort Collins, Colorado
The Denali National Park and Preserve Exotic Plant Management Team (DENA EPMT) is responsible for monitoring and controlling invasive plant species and restoring native habitats by collecting and planting native seeds. During the 2018 field season (May through September), two full-time EPMT staff used manual and chemical control methods to eradicate and limit the spread of seven species of invasive plants, collected 11 types of native seeds for use in revegetation projects, and gathered geospatial data of surveyed and treated sites using a Trimble GPS. With the help of 133 additional personnel including several short-term work crews and volunteers, throughout the season the EPMT was successful in removing 586 pounds of invasive vegetation and gathering 22 pounds of native seed to be used in future restoration efforts.
