This investigation and report concerns subsurface conditions under the masonry walls at Castle Clinton National Monument, New York City, New York. It is based upon on-site site explorations at the wall by test pits and test borings, with the data, measurements, and information obtained therefrom evaluated by an engineer familiar with this type of work. A test grout program was also conducted, and its effects were evaluated to determine if grouting was necessary for the stability of the structure. The report describes the process of this grouting. The report contains, photographs, a soil classification chart, and description of the borings. The services necessary for reporting on this condition were conducted by the Prepakt Concrete Company for the Washington Planning and Service Center of the National Park Service.
