Castle Clinton at The Battery, New York

The primary objects of this archeological investigation at Castle Clinton were the two stone masonry cisterns and the site of the hot-shot furnace in the fort. The investigation at the Battery in New York City was conducted in summer of 1963, and the final report was to be submitted by December 1, 1963. This report describes that project, including a history of the site and a history of the archeological work performed there, and findings of the investigation. Drawings and photographs are included.
