Southeast Alaska Network water quality monitoring SOP 7: Maintenance Log Images (FQ_D Creation), version 1.0

Sergeant CJ, Johnson W, Moynahan B, Nagorski S. 2011. Southeast Alaska Network water quality monitoring SOP 7: Maintenance Log Images (FQ_D Creation), version 1.0. NPS Southeast Alaska I&M Network, Juneau, Alaska.

This reference is for standard operating procedure (SOP) 7 from the FQ-2013.1 protocol package, in effect between 2010 – 2020. The SEAN currently uses the YSI 6920V2 multiparameter sonde. Sondes are equipped with probes measuring pH (YSI 6561), dissolved oxygen (YSI 6150), conductivity/temperature (YSI 6560), and turbidity (YSI 6136, Taiya River only). After each field season, sondes are returned to the manufacturer for annual preventative maintenance and/or repair. Maintenance includes o-ring seal changes, firmware updates, leak testing, sensor testing, and power consumption and data download assessments. With each serviced sonde, YSI returns test results and certification of compliance guaranteeing that non-user accessed seals will be waterproof for two years from the service date. All maintenance records for a monitoring year are scanned by the Project Leader and renamed as FQ_D, which is then validated, certified, and published.
