The purpose of this research was to determine if field application of the aggregation pheromone or the host plant compounds could result in manipulation of D. carinulata densities in the field. The matrix impregnated with the aggregation pheromone and host plant volatiles was able to manipulate densities of D. carinulata in the field. Plants treated with the aggregation pheromone and host plant volatiles had higher densities of adults and larvae compared to control plants.
