Hierarchical functioning of river macrosystems in temperate steppes from continental to hydrogeomorphic patch scales

Pyron M. Hierarchical functioning of river macrosystems in temperate steppes from continental to hydrogeomorphic patch scales. Research Permit and Reporting System

We will collect fish for trait-based and food analyses using angling, minnow traps, gill and fyke nets, seines, and backpack electrofisher, used in combination. Site lengths will be 15x the wetted stream width, and we will attempt to capture all observed fishes. Fish will be identified, a fin clip taken for isotope analysis, stomach contents flushed, and the fish released, except for small individuals (< 20 cm TL) or unknown species which will be preserved for later identification.
