A detailed gravity survey was conducted in the Upper Geyser Basin in August, 2018 to study the near surface density structure in the basin. 145 gravity stations were collected at intervals between 5 and 20 meters between the Old Faithful Geyser and Morning Glory Pool. The resultant gravity map in the Old Faithful region showed a significant low density region to the northwest of the Old Faithful geyser that might be related upwelling hot water.
