Field Courses in Vertebrate Ecology at UC Davis

Kelt DA and Todd B. Field Courses in Vertebrate Ecology at UC Davis. Research Permit and Reporting System

Two UCD professors, two graduate TAs, and 13 undergraduate students stayed at the Norris Camp (Granite Mountains) from 12-20 Sept. 2018. One group of students sampled small mammals (live traps, no mortalities) at two distances from Kelbaker Road (finding no effect of proximity to road). A second group assessed flight response in fringe-toed lizards at Kelso Dunes. Students learned basic field methods and applied data collected to final papers in the format of peer-reviewed journals.
