Collection of native members of the Asteraceae on Hawai'i Island for the Smithsonian Global Genome Initiative
Stallman JK. Collection of native members of the Asteraceae on Hawai'i Island for the Smithsonian Global Genome Initiative. Research Permit and Reporting System
Small leaf tissue collections from two individuals of Dubautia scabra, Dubautia ciliolata ciliolata, Bidens hawaiensis, Pseudognaphalium sp., and one individual of Melanthera subcordata were taken in the field or greenhouse. Genomic DNA extractions are now available via the Smithsonian Institution. DNA Barcodes (nrITS, trnH-psbA, matK, and rbcL loci) were generally unable to differentiate these species from other congeneric taxa on Hawai'i Island.
