Ecology Studies in Grand Teton National Park

Crandall R. Ecology Studies in Grand Teton National Park. Research Permit and Reporting System

In 2018, we conducted surveys for nesting Golden Eagles and American Kestrels, monitored nest sites, relocated kestrels with VHF transmitters, and conducted small mammal trapping. We found 2 of 3 eagle territories were occupied and 1 fledged young. We monitored 11 kestrel territories; all were occupied and we confirmed success in 4, with 12 nestlings fledged. We relocated 3 of the 6 adult kestrels with VHF transmitter from 2017 and we trapped 16 small mammals with 2 trapping grids set.
