Thirty-one collections of fungi from the Hymenogastraceae family were found in Denali National Park in August 2018. The majority were found near the Denali Visitors Centre and along the Kantishna Roadhouse Nature Trail. Fungi were growing in soil in association with six different tree species in both alpine and boreal areas. Preliminary sequencing has identified species from the genus Hebeloma within the following Sections: Hebeloma; Denudata and Velutipes. Research is ongoing.
