NCRN Tree Core Monitoring Data 2016 - 2018

NCRN I&M Program, Brosi S, Elmore A. 2019. NCRN Tree Core Monitoring Data 2016 - 2018. National Capital Region I&M Program. National Park Service - National Capital Region

This dataset represents a baseline assessment of dendrochronology within the National Capital Region Network (NCRN). Data were collected in collaboration with Frostburg State University and the University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science (UMCES) Appalachian Lab. Nondestructive cores of specific species were taken within NCRN forest plots to explore relationships between tree growth and annually-variable environmental factors such as climate. Tree age and growth rate information will enhance forest vegetation assessment of change across time.
