This report documents the Year 4 stabilization work performed at Canyonlands National Park, Island-in-the-Sky District. Five sites were stabilized. The work was performed in the fall of 1986 under provisions of a multi-year contract between Nickens and Associates and the National Park Service. The Year 4 work at these sites included the stabilization of 25 structures. A total of 20 workdays between October 6-29, 1986 was utilized to complete the prestabilization and stabilization tasks. The primary goal of this project was the continued preservation and protection of these five sites and the archaeological material within. The stabilization tasks during this project were directed at placing each site in a structurally sound condition and preventing future forms of deterioration. Emphasis was also placed on data retrieval, both for documentation of the stabilization tasks and site information. The report describes the sites, conditions, and stabilization work, as well as maintenance and monitoring recommendations.
