On September 24-27, 2018 the introductory zoology lab students were transported out to Indian Field Creek and the York River on the Colonial Parkway. The purpose of this lab exercise was to introduce the students to field technique in gathering data on plant and animal diversity in this ecosystem, stressing the importance of the estuary on the health of the Chesapeake Bay by providing crucial habitat as a breeding/nursery grounds for many species in saltmarsh cordgrass.
