Part II of the Historic Structures Report for the Fruita Schoolhouse at Capitol Reef National Monument contains an outline of administrative, historical, architectural, archeological, landscape, and furnishing data for management of the historic structure. It expands on the information provided in Part I. The Fruita schoolhouse was built in the 1890s and was shaped by both remoteness from population centers and aridity. The report describes the development and use of the schoolhouse in the settlement of Fruita. It accompanied a proposed rehabilitation of the building to the mid 1920s. The structure and immediate area were to be used to interpret the historic scene with emphasis on school activities. Historic and contemporary photographs and measured drawings are included.
