The Jean Pierre Emmanuel Prudhomme Plantation, or Oakland Plantation, has the second most complete collection of surviving outbuildings of any plantation in Natchitoches Parish and is of architectural and social significance. This report contains information about the history, features, and development of the Cook's House, Corn Crib, West Pigeonnier, East Pigeonnier, Carriage House, Carpenter Shop, Chicken Coop, and Setting Pen at Oakland Plantation. It includes measured drawings and photographs. The goal of this Historic Structure Assessment Report is to inspect, evaluate, inventory, and document each structure and their development over the years, assess the condition of the building features, and recommend treatment for their preservation or restoration.
