The purpose of this dataset is to capture marsh surface elevation, vegetation canopy cover, Spartina alterniflora canopy cover, and vegetation species composition of marshes in Jamaica Bay, New York. The data will be used to identify the elevation range occupied by salt marsh in Jamaica Bay, to evaluate the growth range of Spartina alterniflora in Jamaica Bay, and to evaluate the vulnerability of Jamaica Bay salt marsh to projected sea level rise.
