Plaque showcasing the rehabilitation of the Crested Butte Denver and Rio Grande Railroad Depot in Crested Butte, Colorado and a timeline of the depot's history. From the Crested Butte, Colorado website: "The rehabilitation of the Depot spanned four years from 2012 - 2016 and involved three phases. Phase I work involved stabilization of the roof supports and replacement of the shingled roof together with energy upgrades over the north section of the building. Phase II involved painting the interior surfaces; rehabilitation exterior wood surfaces, all windows, doors, floors; and insulation upgrades. Phase III involved the stabilization or replacement of foundation systems, construction of an ADA ramp to the freight room, and replacement of numerous landings." Project funding was provided in part by a Historic Preservation Fund grant to the Town of Crested Butte (project number CO-15-023), administered by the Colorado State Historic Preservation Office (grant number P15AF00192) and the State, Tribal, and Local Plans and Grants Division, National Park Service, U.S. Department of the Interior. Crested Butte, Colorado is a Certified Local Government.
