Understanding basaltic volcanic processes by remotely measuring the links between vegetation health and extent, and volcanic gas and thermal emissions using HyspIRI-like VSWIR and TIR data
Deering CD and Mariotto I. Understanding basaltic volcanic processes by remotely measuring the links between vegetation health and extent, and volcanic gas and thermal emissions using HyspIRI-like VSWIR and TIR data. Research Permit and Reporting System
We quantified diffuse CO2 and H2S soil gas emissions to locate structures such as faults and fractures that are pathways for magma migration. This project focused on determining the relationship between vegetation health and extent, diffuse soil CO2 and H2S flux, surface temperature, and heat flux. Hyperspectral remote sensing was used to characterize, predict and measure changes in foliar concentrations of nutrients and water content and their effects on vegetation health.
