Annual Progress Report for California State Parks and Redwood National Park
Annual Progress Report for California State Parks and Redwood National Park. Research Permit and Reporting System
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife aims to balance the needs of the public by establishing and maintaining viable elk populations on public and private lands. Obtaining an accurate estimate of Roosevelt elk populations is difficult because the species is wide-ranging and herds are in difficult to reach locations. This study will examine habitat use, resource selection, behavior, recruitment, disease, and cause specific-mortality, to develop a long-term elk monitoring program.
