This standard operating procedure (SOP) describes how to select a reach and establish index sites for the NGPN Stream Channel Monitoring Protocol (Thornbrugh et al. 2019). The procedures are adapted from the Southeast Coast Network SOPs and protocol narrative for monitoring wadeable streams (McDonald et al. 2018a; McDonald et al. 2018b).
