The Turtle Population Count project

Parks C. The Turtle Population Count project. Research Permit and Reporting System

The green sea turtle plays a crucial role in Hawaii’s history, culture, and ecosystem. Though the Chelonia mydas (green sea turtle) is important, little is known about their migratory patterns, mating, or even their life spans, due to lack of research. The Turtle Population Count project is dedicated to obtaining previously undetermined turtle information through the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration tracking techniques.
