During November 28-30, 2018, NPS Water Resources Division staff and cooperators from Colorado State University worked with Golden Gate National Recreation Area staff to identify degraded wetlands and restoration opportunities at the park. Areas evaluated in the Marin Headlands included Rodeo Creek, Gerbode Creek, Tennessee Valley (Elk Creek), the “Miwok Trail Wetland” and the headwaters above the Rodeo Beach (“Surfer Lot”) restoration site at Fort Cronkhite. The team also assessed sites at Rancho Corral de Tierra in San Mateo County, including San Vicente Creek and an unnamed drainage along Pedro Mountain Road, east of Montara, CA. Restoration and management recommendations are provided for all of these areas.
