ART from the ashes creative platform provides a cathartic avenue to communities affected by wildfire. Through integration of fire site materials as part of the creative process, these “materials” are transformed into symbols of inspiration and resilience. For AFTA’s Seeds of Regrowth program in Northern CA, fire site materials collected during 4 trips to Whiskeytown NRA have been distributed to regional artists and employed in Art Process Workshops for children and adults and Creative Salons.
