This standard operating procedure (SOP) describes the preparations necessary for the summer field season and includes a list of necessary field equipment. Preparations are completed by the start of the field season in late April or early May. Staff must review the protocol by March of each year and revise any sections of the protocol narrative (Boyle et al. 2019) or associated SOPs based on lessons learned from the previous year.
