This report was developed by a team of midshipmen students at the United States Naval Academy as a capstone project for their Ocean Engineering course: Caroline K. Curtis, Christine L. Gaitantzis, Casey J. Lawson, Mary E. Morocco, and Marie C. Valenti under their adviser, Professor David Kriebel. The report is intended to support Yellowstone National Park in managing active erosion of a 1,200ft stretch of shoreline bluff near the Lake Yellowstone hotel, adjacent to the hotel's parking lot and lake viewing platform. The designs can support initial project feasibility studies and will be considered among other mitigation techniques or options. This project was completed in partnership between the United States Naval Academy Department of Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering and the National Park Service, in efforts to support park needs along vulnerable shorelines.
