The smallmouth bass and Ozark bass populations in Buffalo River were studied. Results discuss population, density, habitat utilization, condition, age and growt, food habits and avilability, reproduction, creel census, length frequency and mortality. Populations were related by food and space (severe drought seems to impact food availability and space and therefore population). Discusses competition for food between the two species. Existing level of canoe activity were not found to be seriously impacting the fishery. Appendices include streamflow data for Buffalo River.
