The purpose of the study is to document the exceptional outcrops of several geologic formations in the Guadalupe National Park. We would like to study how the sedimentary facies and structural features (faults and fractures) compare to the equivalent formations in the subsurface. The products will be used for internal training of Marathon employees to help educate on the importance of understanding the rocks at the outcrop scale when interpreting well logs or seismic data in the subsurface.
