Ground Penetrating Radar Survey of Harpers Ferry Station

Seibel S, Ratini MM, Roy R, LaVigne EA. 2019. Ground Penetrating Radar Survey of Harpers Ferry Station. AECOM

The GPR survey was conducted in conjunction with the Phase IA Archeological Assessment of the Harpers Ferry Station (Regan and Seibel, 2019). The purpose of the GPR survey is to obtain better information about the nature and types of archaeological resources that may be underneath the fill on which HFY and the related tracks sit as well as information about the nature of the historic fill to complement previous geotechnical survey. This information will be used to inform engineering design decisions and assess potential impacts to significant cultural resources within portions of the former United States Armory at Harpers Ferry (Armory).
