This study covers the history of the Ferry Hill plantation in the Chesapeake & Ohio Canal National Park. The report includes the early history of the area around Ferry Hill, the owners of the plantation, slavery and agriculture in northern Maryland in general as well as on the Ferry Hill plantation, and troop movements through Ferry Hill during the Civil War. The report also briefly describes the history of the Ferry Hill house during the 20th century.
