The George Washington Memorial Parkway underwent several construction projects in the 1990s. This report was prepared in advance of these projects to examine the potential impacts on historic and archaeological resources in the park. The study examines sites in or near the projects' areas, including the 19th century community Jackson City, Fort Jackson, Mason's Ferry, Awbrey's Ferry, the early 20th century Arlington Beach and another little-known late 19th century settlement.
