According to federal policy, although natural resource data are to be made public by default, there are limited cases where data may be withheld from release to protect park resources from harm, theft, or destruction. Documents in this project define the specific rules under which sensitive natural resource data are protected, the degree of protection warranted, and if/how data will be disseminated on a park-by-park basis. IMD and park staff periodically review these lists to insure they are updated.
