To date no Federally Endangered nor any Threatened or State Protected or Sensitive plant species have been found on Los Alamos National Laboratory Lands. At this time, only one federally protected plant, Pediocactus papyracanthus, is thought to have suitable habitat on LANL property. Although the State protected species, Lilium philadelphicum has been found at higher elevations on Forest Service land west of LANL, none have been sighted on LANL lands. Some plants on the State Sensitive Plant data printout have been reported from the Jemez Mountains but have not been studied sufficiently and are on the list mostly to alert people to their presence and to the need for more contributions of data.
