Thomas House – Thomas Farm (Araby): Historic Structure Report

Beasley J and Vitanza TA. 2010. Thomas House – Thomas Farm (Araby): Historic Structure Report. National Park Service

This report describes the physical condition and historical context for the Thomas House at Monocacy National Battlefield. The house was built in the 18th century and went through several stages of remodeling throughout its lifetime. The house and surrounding farm was also part of the battlegrounds during the Battle of Monocacy, and was apparently heavily damaged in the fighting. The report offers several options for restoration and rehabilitation, and recommends use of the house for park administrative offices.
