This document defines what types of objects and records the Museum Resources Center (MRCE) will maintain in its museum collections, as well as describing MRCE's collection goals and the laws and regulations that pertain to these collections. The document is intended to guide MRCE in maintaining its collections by defining what MRCE collections should and should not accept. MRCE is the central curatorial facility for the National Capital Region's museum collections. In addition to storing objects and records from NCR parks' collections, MRCE keeps its own historical and archival collections.
